Hamilton quiets Quincy for road win

Hamilton High's softball team broke open a 2-2 deadlock with a pair of runs in the sixth inning and made the lead stand or a 4-2 triumph in Quincy Tuesday.

Aubrey Bekendam, Victoria Torrez and Raegan Avrit connected for two hits apiece for Hamilton, with Torrez's double being the team's only hit that went for extra bases.

Bekendam, Torrez, Avrit and Natasha Talbot crossed the plate to score for the Braves (8-10-1, 3-1 Mid-Valley League - North).

Tati Cabral yielded just three hits to secure her fifth win of the season. She struck out nine batters while walking just two.

Kristin Wright doubled for the Trojans (10-10, 1-3 MVL-North).

After Friday's contest in Los Molinos, the Lady Braves close out the regular season at home Tuesday, welcoming the Wolverines from Biggs.
