Trojans scold Bulldogs on the road
With multiple players scoring in the double digits, it's no surprise that Orland High's varsity basketball team beat the Bulldogs 68-54 Friday in Gridley.
Jud Sailsbery had a fantastic night, leading the Trojans in scoring with 24 points, followed by Javone Bradford with 15 and Andrew Hutchens, who tacked on 14.
Sailsbery was sent to the line often and made the most of the free opportunities, hitting 10-of-11 free throws.
Bradford also excelled at the line, going 7-for-8, while Hutchens was 3-for-3 from the stripe.
Sailsbery led the team in assists, dishing out the ball eight times, with Austin Schmeltzer contributing three.
Sailsbery pulled down 14 total rebounds, with Bradford adding 10 during the outing.
Hutchens picked Gridley's pockets for a pair of steals.
The Trojans (17-6, 5-0) face off against Sutter on the road Thursday.
