The host Cubs took a 15-0 lead after the first quarter and led 31-5 at halftime during Tuesday's season-opening loss on the road.

Dominique Walker led the Lady Trojans in scoring with five points; Makayla James notched four points including a 3-pointer; Destiny Thompson scored three points and nabbed three boards, and Cindy Montes was Orland's rebounding leader with eight boards.

Anderson sophomore Katie Nunnelly scored 28 of her team's points and freshman Natalie Campos, 14.

Orland (0-1) is playing in this weekend's tournament in Kelseyville.

Andre Martinez's 16 points helped the Trojans to a four-point win at home on Tuesday.

Juan Maldonado was next on the scoring list with nine points, and teammates Ricky Montes and Ferdinando Venegas pitched in with six points each.

Joey Cole's nine rebounds was a team high, followed closely by Venegas and Martinez, who fought for eight apiece.

Juan Maldonado made three steals.
