Local athletes playing all-star hoops

A number of local players are among those who have been invited to play for the South squads in the 15th Annual Senior High School Lions All-Star Basketball games, being played April 11 at Shasta College in Redding.

The girls game begins at 4 p.m., and features the following local seniors: Carolyna Salazar (Los Molinos), Regan Albee and Chante Dale (Corning), and Savanah Sandate (Orland).

The boys game follows at 6 p.m., and features: Ethan Schmeltzer (Orland), Cameron Vietti (Mercy), and Luis Piseno (Corning).

A $5 donation is requested for admission.

Orland hoops holding 5K/10K

The Orland High basketball program is hosting a 5K and 10K walk/run at 9 a.m. March 27 on the OHS track. The fee is $25 per entry, and includes a T-shirt and water bottle.

Orland battling Corning in alumni basketball

The Orland versus Corning alumni basketball game tips off at 7 p.m. March 27 in the OHS gym. Cost is $5 per person.
