Orland girls ousted by Central Valley

Despite leading 20-19 at the half, the Orland High girls basketball team was unable to contain host Central Valley on Tuesday in Shasta Lake, losing 63-48 to get knocked out of the Northern Section Division IV playoff picture.

Savanah Sandate was the go-to gal on offense for the Lady Trojans, hitting 16 points to lead the team. Sophie Wackerman followed with 10 and Mollee Barr chipped in seven. Wackerman also led Orland with nine rebounds.

The Orland defense was tormented by Lala Forrest-cawker's 22 points, and an additional 14 from Jenna Littlejohn, who also won the battle of the board with 11 rebounds.

Orland finished the season with a record of 16-11.
