Trojans clinch BVL with win over Wheatland
For the third season in a row the Butte View League championship remains in Orland following the Trojans 67-46 victory over Wheatland at home on Tuesday.
The win gave Orland a 7-0 record in league play with one game remaining, with second-place Gridley at 7-2.
Jud Sailsbery scored 24 points that included a three-pack of 3-pointers, and Kavi Ram followed him in the scoring column with 19 points.
Jordan Long put in a solid all-around effort with nine points, a team-best 10 rebounds and eight assists.
Sailsbery was the team assist leader with nine, while Ram came up with four steals.
As a team the Trojans shot 52 percent from the field (29 of 56) and went 5 for 12 from the free-throw line (42 percent).
Orland (21-4) closed out the regular season in Winters on Friday.
