Submitting sports information

Tri-County Newspapers will gladly print the results or information from youth, elementary school or other non-high school sporting events, but we need to know about them first. If you have a score or information about an upcoming sporting event, you may e-mail it to sports@tcnpress.com or call 824-1036.

Also, you may e-mail photos of your game or event to the same e-mail address. Photos used will also appear with proper photo credit being given to the photographer.

Be sure to include the name of the person(s) in the photo and the game.

Let the games begin!

Root for the home team (politely)

There are a few things to remember before heading out to support your favorite sports teams.

School spirit in the Tri-County area is second to none, but the Northern Section California Interscholastic Federation (NSCIF) wants to assure it remains in good taste and is non-distracting.

According to their sportsmanship guidelines, face painting is allowed but body paint is prohibited at both indoor and outdoor activities. Artificial noisemakers are prohibited in gymnasiums but allowed outside. This includes, but is not limited to: megaphones, clappers and bells.

Root for your favorite teams, but remember to do so with respect to others doing the same.

Poll
Same-sex slapdown
What's your reaction to the state Supreme Court upholding the ban on same-sex marriage?
I'm glad to see the will of the majority of voters was supported.
I don't agree with it. Equal rights should be for all Californians.
