Trojans drop court decision to Willows

The Orland High boys tennis team took it on the chin at home Tuesday, losing a 7-2 decision at the hands of county-rival Willows.

Reily Dingus picked up Orland's only singles win on the ace court, downing Garrick Jones 6-2, 6-2.

From 2-6, Johnny Vasquez lost 5-7, 6-7 (3) to Awaaz Patel; Raymond Hecox fell 0-6, 0-6 at the hands of MIchael Lee; Blake Roessel was topped 0-6, 4-6 by Vadym Samoylov; Guillermo Banuelos came out on the short end of a 0-6, 1-6 score to John Vang; and Javier Espino was blanked 0-6, 0-6 by Brett Nacis.

Dingus/Hecox scored an 8-6 victory over G. Jones/Lee in the first doubles match, but Vasquez/Roessel and Banuelos/Espino were downed by respective scores of 4-8 and 0-8 by Patel/Samoylov and Vang/Bryce Jones.

The Trojans traveled to Red Bluff on Friday to volley with Mercy. They come back home for a Wednesday match versus West Valley, followed by a Thursday dual with Las Plumas.
