Varsity Boys Basketball
Hamilton 65, East Nic 49
Balanced scoring resulted in three Braves' players hitting double figures at home Friday, as Briley Fumasi led the way with 15 points and Shea Shull and Jacob Jacobo each pumped in 13.
Drew Orr and Riley Shill both scored 13 for East Nicolaus.
Hamilton (10-9, 3-0 MVL-North) played in Esparto Tuesday, and travels to Portola Friday.
Paradise Adventist 74, Providence 32
The Lions were up against it Thursday as they battled the PVL-leading Cougars in Paradise.
Trevor Borg led five Cougars who scored in double figures with 14 points. He was joined by Zach Jensen (12), Jonathon Pierson (11) and Dallas Davis and Peter Sayegh, who scored 10 apiece.

Providence (2-13, 1-3 PVL) play at Redding Adventist on Thursday.

The Lady Braves kept their perfect season intact with a 30-point blowout win at home Friday.

Hamilton (19-0, 3-0 MVL-North) took on Esparto on the road Tuesday, and warms up the bus for Portola Friday.
Boys Soccer
Hamilton 6, Mercy 3
The Hamilton High boys soccer team won the battle Thursday, handing visiting Mercy a 6-3 loss in SVL-Two play.
The Braves (8-2-1, 4-1-1 SVL-Two) faced off against Live Oak on Tuesday and host Williams Thursday.
JV Boys Basketball
Wheatland 63, Orland 51
The Orland High boys JV basketball team fell to a fast-paced Wheatland side on Friday, getting edged out by the visiting team.
Trojan Levy Williams put up 20 points while teammate Andre Martinez racked up 12 and Tyler Batchelder nabbed nine.
Williams showed off impressive numbers all around, leading Orland in total rebounds with 14, picking up three steals and blocking two shots. Batchelder pitched in six assists, with Cade Fountain also dishing out three.
Youth Wrestling
Jr. Trojans show their stuff
On Saturday, the Orland Jr. Trojans wrestlers took part in the Eastside Classic at Foothill High in Palo Cedro. Varsity placewinners were Ricky Landeros, 70 lbs. (1st); Austin James, 95 (2nd); Sergio Parra, 135 (2nd); Yonathan Esquivel, 83 (3rd); Steven Abbott, 128 (3rd); Aaron Ramirez, 100; Logan O'Riley, 103; Carlos Martinez, 152 and Matthew Holden, 168, who all placed fifth. Landeros and James and Abbott qualified for the TOC's with their finishes.
JV placewinners were: Aaron Punzo (65) and Abel Zarco (139) both taking first; and Hunter Sotelo (62), R.J. Baker (89), Angel Alvarez (98), Ivan Hernandez (118) and Ricardo Llamas (139), all finishing second.
On Sunday, a group also went to the SAWA Folkstyle Championships at Natomas High in Sacramento. Placing and divisions were: Lucas Landeros, 45 Bantam (1st); Ricky Landeros, 70 Middle School (1st); Yonathon Esquivel, 95 Middle School (1st); Austin James, 95 Middle School (1st); Steven Abbott, 135 Middle School (1st); Braden Schumann, 55 Intermediate (2nd); Logan O'Riley, 105 Middle School (3rd) and Ivan Hernandez, 120 Middle School (3rd).
