Orland teeing up inauguaral golf tourney

The City of Orland is holding its first-ever golf tournament March 28 at the Glenn Golf & County Club. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Orland Library, and also the Orland Recreation Department. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the Centennial Celebration Committee.

The cost is $75 per player, and includes a tri-tip or chicken dinner.

Meet NFL great Aaron Rodgers in Chico

Famed NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers will be among the honored guests March 13 at the annual Butte College Foundation Spring Gala at the Chico/Bell Memorial Union hall on the campus of California State University, Chico. The gala begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are still available for those wishing to meet one of the NFL's shining stars.

The gala also features dinner, a silent auction and music by the Swing Kings.
