Braves still courting perfection

Hamilton High volleyball team yet to lose single game

Six matches, 14 games total, and not a single loss to speak of. It looks like business as usual for the Hamilton High volleyball team.

The Lady Braves easily made host Gridley its latest victim Tuesday, hitting the road for a 25-9, 25-10, 25-22 victory.

The normally lethal Hamilton attack was just that in Gridley, with the Braves shooting from over the top and from all angles for 30 kills, more than doubling Gridley's 14.

Aubrey Bekendam alone matched the Bulldogs' total, and Audra Jones showered the opposite side of the net with another eight, and Jordan McCorkle, five.

With the steady onslaught of kills, Emily Stokes and Audra Jones shared the ace lead with four apiece, with each being on from the line for 16 points off the serve. Evelin Barajas added 25 assists to eight digs and seven service points.

Hamilton (6-0) will test its game against some top-tier opposition this weekend, participating in the PV Friendship Tourney in Chico.
