Providence holds awards night

Providence Christian High held its fall sports awards night recently to recognize the efforts of the volleyball and cross country teams. Tucker Hoffman claimed first place and Guy Sinclair, third, during the Mountain Valley League Championships. Nathan Bristley took second in the junior varsity division. Hoffman also qualified for the state championships with a 12th-place showing at the Northern Section finals.

Elizabeth Anderson and Lyndsay Lely each received an award for being a four-year member of the volleyball team, as did Hoffman for cross country.

Additionally, Bristley and Elizabeth Manthei received awards for being the member of each squad with the highest GPA.

Registration for Orland youth hoops

Registration for Orland Youth Basketball for players ages 6 years old to eighth grade are being held from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m. until Dec. 19 at the Orland Recreation Center. Cost is $35, and the league starts play January 12.
