Honkers volleyball de-feathers Las Plumas

An unrelenting Honkers attack proved to be too much for the host Thunderbirds as the Willows varsity volleyball team put Las Plumas away 25-9, 25-8, 22-25, 25-16 Wednesday.

The Thunderbirds found no way of defending the one-two punch of Lindsay Vantol and Kristina Acosta at the net, as Vantol pounded the floor with 16 kills and Acosta 11, season highs for both girls.

Acosta also shared the fun with her Lady Honker teammates, putting up 11 assists, as did Kaitlin Alves.

Vantol serves also fond the spot for four aces, with Acosta and Hailey Daniels each adding a pair.

With the win the Honkers evened their season record at 10-10.

Willows began Sacramento Valley League playing at home against 1-8 Live Oak Tuesday, and have a big match Thursday at Colusa, which comes in at 3-4.
