Couples are encouraged to symbolize their commitment to one another by placing a lock on the Lovelock Bridge then tossing away the key as they leave the depot to get onto the Wine Train. It is a takeoff on a European tradition in which lovers put a lock on several famous bridges, then toss the key away.
