Support your furry friend

Fourth of July Pignic

The Farm Sanctuary will host a Fourth of July Pignic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at their shelter located at 19080 Newville Road in Orland. Free guided tours of the sanctuary will begin every hour on the hour. For more information, contact Michelle King at 607-583-2225 ext. 254.

Up, Up and Away

The Orland Evangelical Free Church with Child Evangelism Fellowship invites children ages kindergarten through sixth grade to participate in their vacation bible school themed "Up, Up and Away" from 9-12:30 a.m. July 5-9. 614 A Street, Orland. For more information, call 865-2453.

Buckhorn ramp to close

Black Butte Lake's Buckhorn boat ramp will be closed for improvements beginning July 6. Buckhorn Campground and boat ramp at Eagle Pass and Orland Buttes recreation areas will remain open throughout the closure.

The ramp is being widened and additional parking spaces, lighting and a new restroom added through a grant from the California State Department of Boating and Waterways. The ramp is expected to reopen in early December. For more information, call 865-4781.

101 in the Shade

The City of Orland Centennial Committee would like to invite organizations to participate in their 101 in the Shade event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 at Library Park. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Orland Centennial Celebration Fund. For more information, contact Centennial Central, Salvagno's, at 865-4717. �
