Several arrests made by police, CHP

A Maryland teenager arrested by Orland police on drug charges Thursday after making a disturbance at the Orland Inn, reportedly tore up his padded cell at the Glenn County Jail, law enforcement officials reported.

Austin Lacour Vahn Requa, 19, of Germantown, was initially arrested by the Orland police at 6:25 a.m. at the Inn on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance in addition to slew of misdemeanors, including possession of marijuana, disturbing the peace by unreasonable noise, delaying, obstructing peace officers in the performance of their duties and being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones.

Requa was taken to Glenn Medical Center in Willows prior to booking, where tests reportedly found Requa was under the influence of ecstasy (gamma hydroxybutyric) and marijuana laced with methamphetamine, officials said.

He was then placed in a "sobering cell" within the Glenn County Jail.

Around 12:15 p.m., correctional officers requested assistance from patrol deputies after Requa reportedly ripped the phone from the wall inside the cell and used it to break out all the safety windows, Jones said.

Deputies and Willows police officers rushed to the jail, but Requa would not respond to verbal commands and was very combative, the sheriff said, requiring a Glenn County correctional supervisor to use an taser device to subdue him.

Requa was treated for slight cuts he received as a result of reportedly breaking out the glass and was put back into a safety cell.

The sheriff said he was monitored through the day and night until the adverse affects of the drugs dissipated, but Regia continued to show violent behavior Friday morning, spitting on correctional officers and throwing his own fecal matter at them.

No law enforcement officers were injured, but damage at the jail are estimated to be between $1,500 and $2,000, Jones said.

The Sheriff said he will seek additional charges against Requa for assaulting a correctional officer and vandalizing jail property.

His bail was set at $19,000.
