Glenn County celebrates July Fourth

Orland Old-Fashioned Fourth of July, Vinsonhaler Park, Orland

Noon: Food and children’s game booths open
1 p.m.: Presentation of colors; pledge of allegiance; national anthem; welcome by event Chairwoman Joanne Overton; address by Orland Mayor Bruce Roundy.
1:30 p.m.: Citizen of the Year award; military service songs; recognition of military personnel; parade of cars.
2:30 p.m.: Decorated hat contest; decorated live pet contest; decorated bike contest; junior foot race; sack races; egg toss
3:30 p.m.: Frog-jumping contest, including auction of frogs

Today
• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: “Pignic” at Farm Sancutary, 19080 Newville Road, Orland.
• 1 to 5 p.m.: Orland Community Pool open for regular swim
• All day: Tennis tournament at Vinsonhaler Park, Orland; soccer tournament at Roosevelt Field behind Orland High.
• Dusk: Fireworks at Jensen Park in Willows

Sunday
• Tennis tournament at Vinsonhaler Park, Orland; soccer tournament at Roosevelt Field.
