Interested in how Butte College is going to meet student needs?

The college is hosting a community forum on Monday in Willows to get input on how to develop its strategic and educational master plans.

It is scheduled from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Willows City Council chambers, 201 N. Lassen St.

College officials want to know if it has the right strategies in place to support the educational and workforce development needs of communities.

The plans will define Butte’s priorities for the next 10 years, officials said, regarding educational programming, on and off-campus development, student support services, human resource development and technology.

“Since we are the community’s college, it is important to begin our planning with a series of informed discussions with the communities and public we serve,” college President Kimberly Perry said in a statement.

“We’ve organized several planning forums to offer an informative session about the college followed by collaborative sessions to determine how we can work in innovative ways to improve outcomes for our students and to better support our communities.”

The public is welcome to attend.

Butte College hosted similar forums in Orland, Chico, Gridley, Oroville and Paradise.
