Parolee arrested, weapons charges
A parolee armed with a .38-caliber revolver was arrested in an apartment in the Spring Mountain complex on Wednesday.
Corning police received a call around 1:14 a.m. that parolee, Oaks Quinton Locust, 25, was in an orchard north of the Edith Avenue apartment complex, with a hand gun, said Officer Tiffany Hill.
Hill reported Locust returned to na apartment prior to police arriving, where, with assistance from the Tehama County Sheriff's Department, arrested Locust. A concealed revolver was reportedly found, police said.
According to Hill, the serial number of the firearm had been altered.
Locust was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon, and a misdemeanor count of altering a serial number on a firearm. Bail was set at $30,000.
