Favorite aspect of the holiday season: I love spending time with my family. We love to decorate, cook, bake and drive around looking at the Christmas lights together.
Least favorite aspect of the holiday season: The holidays are our busy time at the store so we work a lot of hours and don't take many days off.
How did you spend your Christmas? We always have Christmas even dinner at our home and we open our presents. Christmas Day my family and I went to my sister's. We then spent time on the Oregon coast visiting my son.
Was Santa generous to you this year? Very. Funny story. My husband wanted to know what to get me so I circled a bunch of things in magazines I liked, to give him an idea of something. He got me everything!
What was your favorite gift? My daughter got me the book, "The Language of Flowers." It's a heart warming book about mothers and daughters love and the significant meaning of flowers. The author was originally from Chico.
Do you make New Year resolutions? I do.
What is your resolution? I want to get organized. What I haven't used in the past year I'm donating to the Senior Citizens Thrift Store.
Do you typically follow through with your New Year resolution? I try to, but it's not the end of the world if I don't. There's always next year.
What are other goals for the upcoming year? To have more fun, take more time off, travel and work on my "Bucket List."
What was the best thing that happened to you in 2011? I took my granddaughter to Disneyland. We had so much fun. I rode on all the rides with her. I cant wait to take my other granddaughter.
What was the worst thing that happened to you in 2011? For me it has been heartbreaking to see how the bad economy has affected people I know. Many are losing their jobs and homes they have worked so hard for.
How did you ring in the new year ? My husband and I went out to dinner and saw a good movie.
What are you most thankful for? I'm so proud of my daughter and son and thankful for my family's love and support.
What do you hope to see happen this upcoming year? I'm excited and hopeful for 2012. I hope to see the construction and building industry booming, home values go up, businesses prospering, not just surviving but prospering, and rain for the farmers.
