Students will dazzle the crowd
The Colusa County Music Festival concert begins at 7 p.m. tonight at the Maxwell High School Gym. Music students from Colusa, Maxwell, Arbuckle and Williams will be under the direction of guest conductor, Les Lehr.
Community meeting announced
The Colusa County Sheriff's Office will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Grimes Scout Cabin to discuss topics of importance with the community. In addition to the Grimes meeting, the Sheriff's office will continue to host community meetings for Colusa, Maxwell, Arbuckle, Stonyford, Princeton and Williams.
Give blood, save a life
From 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Maxwell High School and BloodSource will host a blood drive. All participants will receive a free T-shirt. For more information, call 1-866-82blood or visit www.bloodsource.org.
Crab Feed at St. Bernadette's Hall
Our Lady of Lourdes School will host a crab dinner from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at St. Bernadette's Hall, 745 Ware Ave., Colusa. Dinner includes crab, salad, beans, bread and dessert. A beer and wine bar will also be available. Tickets $40, are available at Oll School, 458-8208; Redding Oil, 458-4727; and Sankey Auto, 458-2125.
Methodist church hosts dinner
The Maxwell United Methodist Church will host a Chili Bean Feed from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the corners of California and Olive Streets. Donations are accepted for dine-in or take out.
St. Patrick's Day fundraiser at Granzella's
Granzella's will host a St. Patrick's Day fundraiser to benefit Citizens for a Better Williams. Corned beef and cabbage will be served from 5-7 p.m. at the banquet center, 457 Seventh St. Tickets are $9 for adults; $5 for children and available at the door or in advance at the Granzella's office next to the gift shop or Shear Class in Williams, 530 Seventh St. For more information, call 473-5583.
Williams to host 33rd Antique Show
The Williams Antique Show will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 20 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 21 at the Old Gym located at 1491 E Street, behind the museum. The cost is $5 and includes admission to the museum. Visitors will receive $1 off if they mention seeing this announcement. The Church of Annunciation will have homemade cakes, pies, soups and sandwiches available for purchase.
Friends of The Library host annual meeting
The Friends of the Colusa County Library will hold their annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. on March 18 at the Colusa County Chamber and Visitor Center, 2963 Davison Court.
Author Robert V. Hardy, author of "Circular Passages, a Young Man's 480-Day Global Odyssey" will be a guest speaker. Refreshments will be served and everyone is invited. Contact Catherine Bernard for information: 458-5601.
New spring bird walks at the River Units
The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge will hold a nature walk on March 26 just north of Hwy. 162 on the west side of the river and will route through a mixture of cottonwoods, grasslands and freshwater. Pre-registration is needed. Please contact the refuge at 934-2801.
Williams offers evening activities
The community is invited to play bunco at 6 p.m. Monday nights in Williams at the Veterans Hall. Game days will be held the third Wednesday at 1 p.m. and movie days are held on the fourth Wednesday at 1 p.m. Refreshments are available for purchase.
