Letter: Proposition 8 deserves 'yes' vote
I intend to vote “yes” on Proposition 8. I believe God intended for marriage to be between one man and one woman.
It is a well-known fact that the same-sex promoters have wanted to use the California public school textbooks for a long time to teach their lifestyle to a captive audience of young, impressionable schoolchildren, using our tax dollars to do it. Many, many of these children come from homes like my children and grandchildren do, with parents who find this unacceptable.
Whether you like it or not, marriage is a deeply religious personal thing and should be taught in the home by the parents. I do not wish to offend anyone, but I would hope that others would show some respect and concern for what I believe too.
If you are undecided on which way to vote, I hope you would weigh the long-term consequences to marriage, families and our society and vote “yes” on Proposition 8.
