Sheriff Posse seeks entry fees
Entry fees are being accepted for the first Sutter County Sheriff Posse's Bowl-a-Thon planned in October.
The fundraiser is from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at NU Generation Lanes, 879 Onstott Road, Yuba City.
The cost is $20 per bowler, with each team including five players. Participants are encouraged to obtain a minimum of $50 in donations. A percentage of the money raised will go to breast cancer research.

The Sheriff's posse is a voluntary group of men and women working with the Sutter County Sheriff's Department. Members help with community parades, search and rescue and financial contributions to various children's groups.

Play benefits Democratic Club
Local theatergoers can see a performance of "Arsenic and Old Lace" at The Acting Company in Yuba City and raise funds for the Feather River Democratic Club at the same time.
The fundraiser is set July 31, with the production at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and include appetizers with a no-host wine and soda bar at 7 p.m. and dessert and coffee during the intermission.
