Support your furry friend

Town and Country Humane Society will host its monthly bingo with doors opening at 6 p.m. and games starting at 7 tonight at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 East Yolo St. For more information, call 865-3661 or 865-5605.

Buckhorn ramp closed

Black Butte Lake's Buckhorn boat ramp is for improvements beginning and is expected to reopen in early December. Buckhorn Campground and boat ramp at Eagle Pass and Orland Buttes recreation areas will remain open throughout the closure.

The ramp is being widened and additional parking spaces, lighting and a new restroom added through a grant from the California State Department of Boating and Waterways. The ramp is expected to reopen in early December. For more information, call 865-4781.

'101 in the Shade'

The City of Orland Centennial Committee is inviting organizations to participate in its "101 in the Shade" event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24 at Library Park.
