Deputy McDonald
was southbound on Tehama Street. In Willows and observed a yellow Datsun
traveling southbound in front of her. The vehicle was driving approximately 30
mph and swerving within its lane. The vehicle then failed to yield at the posted
stop sign at county road 57 and skidded to a stop in the intersection. Dep.
McDonald initiated a vehicle stop at county road 57 and northbound I-5 on ramp.
Driver and sole occupant, Robert Stevens, admitted to drinking beer while
driving. Scene turned over to CHP driver arrested for DUI and possession of
hashish.
Enloe Hospice called the sheriff`s office to report a hospice patient had passed away at the Grindstone Rancheria. Deputy Knouse detailed to take coroner`s report. Ernestine J. Adams, 73, passed away in her home from an illness with family at her side. Dr. Potter to sign death certificate.
Darlene Nation, 59, reports vandalism by her neighbor Theresa Riley, 71, to her flower bed. Approximate damage is $7.00. Investigation continuing.
CPS responded to Hamilton City Elementary to speak with a 9-year-old juvenile concerning possible abuse and drug activity in the home. CPS requested a deputy accompany him to the juvenile's home. Deputy Knouse and CPS contacted the juvenile`s uncle at the residence. CPS spoke with the juvenile`s mother about allegations that were made. During a consent search of subject's bedroom, deputy Knouse seized approx 118 grams of marijuana. Case open.
Juan Ramirez, 27, reported his cousin had been assaulted by a male subject no longer in the area. Deputy Burns responded and contacted, Nicanor Romero, 29. Romero explained Shelby Haney, 36, punched him in the face. Romo had visible injuries. Deputy Burns and K-9 Zeffer located Haney riding his bike in Hamilton City. Haney was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and DUI on a bicycle. Romero requested to pursue additional charges of assault and battery.
Bob Nordbye, 53, called to report loud fireworks going off in the area of county road 20 and county road M. Nordbye reported the noise was disturbing his dogs. Deputy Burns responded to the area and no fire works were observed in the area. Contact was made with Nordbye over the telephone and he was advised to re-contact the sheriff`s office if the noises continued.
Deputy Brazzi made a traffic stop on two vehicles that appeared to be trying to run each other off of the road. Deputy Brazzi contacted both drivers. Hank Butterfield was on CDC parole. A bag containing a small amount of meth was located in Butterfield`s car. Stacy Redenius was on Glenn County probation. A glass container containing meth and two glass pipes used to smoke meth were located in Redenius`s purse. Redenius and Butterfield were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
