Letter: We all share responsibility

The time for the silent majority to speak out is upon us.

For decades, the politicians have run amuck, spending, taxing, and now borrowing at an unsustainable rate.

The nation is headed for a catastrophic collapse.

The powers in control, don't seem to be able to come to any agreement on what to do.

They are so busy pandering to the special interest groups, they have lost sight of what their job really is.

Since the politicians can't be trusted to solve the situation, that leaves the people to do it for themselves.

The Democrats blame George W. Bush for all our economic woes, and the Republicans blame the Democrats for wanting to tax and spend and borrow our way to prosperity.

Nothing is being accomplished.

It seems what we need is a complete mind set change, which can only begin with each individual.

The time for name calling and finger pointing should be over now.

Each person must ask himself or herself, "How am I part of the problem?" "What can I do individually to help resolve the situation?"

When you have answered these questions, then get busy working on solutions.

Perhaps you may want to volunteer at a local political party headquarters, or write letters to your elected representatives, or seek ways to become less dependent on the government.

Seek solutions within yourselves, and not on government to solve your problems.

If enough people will take responsibility to change the situation one person at a time, collectively, we may make sure our country will not financially collapse, and it will once again become the beacon of light, for all those countries who seek freedom.
