Michael Cauble

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Orland Cemetery, 3900 County Road P, for Michael Lawerence Nelson Cauble, 59, who passed away on Sept. 22, 2008, in Orland, due to natural causes. A celebration of his life will follow.

Mike was born in Pomona on March 2, 1949, to Nelson and Shirley Cauble. He was raised in Orland and graduated from Orland High School in 1967.

Mike was a decorated veteran, earning two purple hearts, three bronze stars, and two Army commendations C.I.D. during his service in the Viet Nam War.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and rides in the country. His friends knew him as the “gentle giant.”

Mike is survived by his wife, Marti, of Chico; son Jason Cauble, of Chico; daughter Jaime Perry and husband Jason, of Roseville; and three grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents and younger brothers Terry and John, and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his first wife, Cheryl, and beloved sister, Sandra Grimshaw.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary.
