Play bunco with your Orland friends and neighbors

Beginning at 7 p.m., The Tau Alpha Sorority will host their semi-annual Bunco Party on Thursday at St. Sominic's Parish Hall. Doors open at 6:15 and the cost is $10 per player. Annual rummage sale begins Friday

The Orland Women's Improvement Club will hold its annual rummage sale from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Flaherty Hall at the Glenn County Fairgrounds.

Play to support your local shelter

The Town and Country Humane Society will host its monthly Bingo night with doors opening at 6 p.m. and games beginning at 7 on Saturday, located at the Glenn County Fairgrounds. For more information, call 865-3661 or 865-5605.

Capay volunteers need your support

Help the Capay Volunteer Fire Department maintain high-quality fire protection and rescue and medical services by attending their annual buffet dinner to be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Capay Elementary School, Fourth and Cutting avenues.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 5-12 years old. Donations may be sent to the Capay Volunteer Fire Department, 50 Fourth Ave., Orland, CA 95963. For details call 864-8478.

Visit King Tut

The Capay Rancho Women's Club is hosting a bus trip to San Francisco and the King Tut exhibit at the De Young Museum on Tuesday. The price of $87 includes lunch at Sinbad's by the Ferry Building. For reservations, call Pat Ragan at 865-2615.

Find the magic in science

From 5-7 p.m. on March 16, Flaherty Hall will be turned into a massive science fair arena and judges are still needed to judge. If you are interested, contact Kathy Congdon at 865-1267, ext. 2101.

Youth football, cheer sign-ups coming soon

Sign-ups for Orland Aztecs Youth Football and cheerleading for children ages 6-14 will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on March 17-18 and again from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 20 at the Pizza Factory in Orland. Please bring a copy of child's birth certificate, current wallet-sized photo and insurance information. Children ages 13 and 14 must present proof of being in the eighth grade.

Cost to play is $125 plus mandatory sale of 50 raffle tickets. All veteran players who signed up at the Awards Banquet must attend sign-ups to fill out paperwork and pick up raffle tickets.
