Letter: Kudos to Peterson for craft fair
I would like to thank Olga Peterson for her vision and dedication which makes The Orland Craft Fair rise above all others in quality and operation. Olga manages 250 sellers with a dignity and poise that earns the respect of everyone participating. Our community is fortunate she has the courage and ability to organize and undertake this major event.
Always the weekend after Thanksgiving, the Orland Craft Fair has become a tradition for shoppers from Redding, Sacramento and the Bay Area as well as our surrounding towns.
Orland's "Avenue of Lights" is yet another dream Olga has brought to fruition. Each December, our fairgrounds are transformed into a wonderland of lights for all to enjoy. It is a nostalgic treat for families who drive through our beautifully appointed fairgrounds, ending at the "North Pole Lodge," where children meet Santa and everyone enjoys refreshments among beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
Orland's "Avenue of Lights" was mentioned on NBC National News last year as a unique and special event everyone should see.
Holidays are especially nice in Orland, thanks to Olga Peterson, who had beautiful dreams for our town and the energy and wisdom to bring them to life.
