Art reception on Friday

Thirty-nine pieces of photography will be on display from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Friday at the Orland Art Gallery, 732 Fourth St., Orland.

Selected from more than 80 entries, the photographs feature the work of the Tehama County Photo Club, which include residents of Tehama, Glenn and Butte counties.

Refreshments will be provided by the Lambda Iota chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Live music will be provided by pianist Sean Bostrom.

Soup Bowl Saturday set

Orland's Victory in Christ Community Church will hold its annual Soup Bowl Saturday from noon — 3 p.m. Saturday, East Walker Street and Woodward Avenue.

Homemade soups and chilies will be served for free in the basement until the food runs out. Afterward, head over to the fire department's spaghetti dinner fundraiser for a no-cook day.

Eagles serve up dinner

The Orland Eagles will serve a roast pork dinner from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday at the Eagles Hall, 6381, County Road 200, Orland.

The cost is $9 for adults; $5 for children 6-12; and children 5 and under eat free.

Annual rummage sale slated

The Orland Women's Improvement Club will hold its 63rd annual Rummage Sale, from 9:30 a.m. — 6 p.m. March 1, and 9:30 a.m. — 3 p.m. March 2 in Flaherty Hall at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E. Yolo St., Orland.

The extravaganza supports books for the public library, recreation, scholarships, and various worthy causes in the Orland area. Donations of adult and children's clothes, furniture, household items, jewelry, linens, small appliances, and toys are needed. Computers, large appliances, mattresses, or telephones will not be accepted.

Donations of rummage items will be accepted from 9:30 a.m. — 3 p.m. Feb. 23-27 and 9:30 a.m. — noon Feb. 28 at Flaherty Hall.

Larger items such as furniture may be dropped off Feb. 28.
