Sober Grad bake sale today
Orland High School Safe and Sober Grad will hold a bake sale fundraiser today from 1-3 p.m. during the second annual CVS Pharmacy Halloween Party, 869 Newville Road, Orland.
Children in costume will receive a free Halloween Fun Pack and a free 5-by-7 inch photo during the costume photo shoot.
Oil demonstration Monday
Artist Beverly Wilson will be at the Orland Art Gallery to demonstrate her oil pastel techniques at 2 p.m. Monday.
The presentation will follow with a question and answer period. The gallery at 732 Fourth St., Orland.
Donations will be accepted, with proceeds divided between the artist and the gallery fund.
Chamber candidate forums set
The Orland Chamber of Commerce will host a forum for candidates the Orland Unified School District board and Orland City Council. at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Carnegie Center, 912 Third St., Orland.
A forum for City Council candidates will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, also at the Carnegie Center.
Platinum Club meets Thursday
Barbara Rydgren, Glenn Medical Center's director of Health Information Management, will present "Ensuring your Health Information Integrity" for the Platinum Club meeting from 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. Thursday in the large conference room at the hospital.
A breakfast buffet will also be available. The center is located at 1133 W. Sycamore St., Willows.

Town hall meeting set
A town hall meeting to discuss the state's fire prevention fee will be held from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Redding Library Community Room, 1100 Parkview Ave., Redding.
State Assemblyman Jim Nielsen, former Sen. Doug LaMalfa, and David Wolfe, legislative director for the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, will attend.

4-H bowl-a-thon set
The Glenn County 4-H Bowl-a-Thon will be held Oct. 27 at Orland Bowl, 507 Monterey St., Orland. The first session will begin at 10 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to participate.
Door prizes will be given out throughout the day, as well as prizes for the team with the best name and the team with the best costumes during each session.
