Orland Police Report: July 10

1411 hrs Officer Stover stopped a Toyota Tercel at Eighth Street and Newville Road for a passenger not wearing a seatbelt. Twenty-two y/o Derick Thompson San Leandro and the driver 20 y/o Chanpheng Thamavong of Artois were both admonished regarding seat belt safety.

1327 hrs Officer Johnson was sent to 720 Fourth St for a report of a GPS device stolen from a vehicle at the business. Officer contacted 39 y/o David Villicano of Orland who reported the GPS device was taken from his Air Rite work van. A report was taken.

 1450 hrs Sgt. Baker was sent to the Glenn County Road Department, 615 East South Street for a medical aid. Officer arrived and learned it was a possible industrial accident that occurred at the Orland Airport. Officer stood by until Deputy Bailey arrived on scene and took over the investigation. Fifty-six y/o Ronald Peak of Orland was transported to Enloe Hospital for a hand injury.

1630 hrs Sgt Baker contacted 27 y/o Steven Baker of Orland on a bicycle at Yolo and Fifth Streets. Steven Baker was arrested on a misdemeanor bench warrant and possession of a syringe. The local warrant was for being under the influence of a controlled substance with a bail amount of $10,000 dollars.

1845 hrs Officer Johnson was sent to the 200 block of Seventh St for a report of two improperly parked vehicles. The officer located a white 1994 Toyota Tacoma parked on the wrong side of the street and a tan 2002 Chevrolet Silverado parked across a sidewalk. Parking citations were issued to the registered owners.

 2219 hrs Glenn County Sheriff’s Office dispatch faxed an extra patrol request for the 800 block of Walker St regarding suspicious noises heard by residents in the area.
