Sign up your mighty mite for T-Ball

 

Colusa Parks and Community Services Department is taking sign-ups for the 2010 Mighty Mite T-Ball season for girls and boys born between 2003 and 2005. Registration is $25 for city residents and $33 for non-city residents.

The last day to sign up is Thursday. Coaches are also needed. Forms are available at Colusa City Hall, 425 Webster St. For more information, call Sandy at 458-5622, ext. 109 or Lani at 458-5622 ext. 101.

Reproductive Herd Health Workshop offered

The Glenn/Colusa Cattlemen's Association, UCCE, Westway/Mol Mix and Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. will host at workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at Louis Cairos, 558 Seventh St. in Williams. Guest speakers will address issues such as management, vaccination, supplementation and nutrition. Please RSVP to Josh Davy at 527-3101.

Williams High School seniors host fundraiser

WHS seniors are hosting a Carnitas Dinner from 5-7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the high school multipurpose room. The meal cost $10 and proceeds go toward the senior class trip to Disneyland. Tickets may be purchased by any senior class member.

Indian grant funding now available

The Indian Gaming Local Community Benefit Committee is accepting grant applications under SB621. Eligible applicants are Local Government Jurisdictions within the boundaries of Colusa County, including: Cities and special districts which are impacted by tribal gaming.

The deadline for submission of applications is March 3 at 5 p.m. at the Clerk of the Board. Applications may be obtained from the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors at 547 Market St. Colusa, 458-0508.

Enjoy an afternoon of tea

The Annual Almond Blossom Tea will be held at noon on March 6 at the Arbuckle Community Church, 700 Hillgate Road. The Tea will feature a salad luncheon, a raffle for a hand-made quilt, door prized and entertainment. The cost is $8 per person. For more information, call Gena Woodward at 476-3021.

Soothe your senses,find balance

Sign up now for yoga and meditation classes to be held every Saturday morning from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the City Hall Auditorium beginning March 6. Four sessions cost $45 and beginners are welcome, taught by certified yoga instructor Baylea Protine. Deadline to sign up is Feb. 26. Call Sandy at 458-5622 ext. 109 for more information.

Williams offers evening activities

The community is invited to play bunco at 6 p.m. Monday nights in Williams at the Veterans Hall. Game days will be held the third Wednesday at 1 p.m. and movie days are held on the fourth Wednesday at 1 p.m. Refreshments are available for purchase.
