Community Briefs: Dates for farmers markets set
The Glenn County certified farmers market in Orland will open June 2, and the market in Willows on June 6, organizers announced this week.
Both run through October.
The Orland market will be 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays at Library Park on Fourth Street.
The Willows market will run 4-7 p.m. Wednesdays on Butte Street.
A new market manager is expected to be hired by the end of March, Glenn County Resource Conservation District Executive Officer Kandi Manhart said.
Vendor packets for the 2012 season are available through the RCD.

Colusa High School Class of 1962 will hold their 50th reunion in Reno August 3-4.

4-H fundraiser on March 3
The annual Glenn County 4-H fundraising dinner will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. March 3 at St. Monica's Parish Hall, 1129 W. Wood St., Willows.
Tickets are $10 and include tri-tip, rice, salad, roll, cookie and a drink. Tickets are available from any 4-H member, at the door or by calling 865-1107. Take-out is also available.
A cake wheel and children's carnival will be available as well, and cake donations are appreciated.
Run your tail off
The Glenn County Resource Conservation District is organizing its first annual Run Your Tail Off 5K/10K event. The event will bring awareness to the locale watersheds, provide an athletic venue for avid runners, create an opportunity for families looking for an outdoor experience and allow for a fundraising activity for the Glenn County RCD Connects with Kids Program.
Scheduled for May 5, the event coincides with the locally and nationally recognized May is Watershed Awareness Month..
The event will take place at the Buckhorn Recreation Area at Black Butte Lake in Orland.
