Firefighting made fun for children
The Fire Management Staff at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge will hold a number of fun activities related to the field of firefighting, with children as the main focus. These programs will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Sat. and April 17. It is great for Boy and Girl Scout groups and young people between grades 3-6. To sign up, call 934-2801.
Pizza Fun Night at Round Table Pizza
Round Table Pizza in Orland will host a fundraiser for the eighth grade class at CK Price Middle School from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Desserts will also be available for purchase. Coupons are available at the CK Price Office. For more information, call Monica at 865-4391.
Help survivors of sexual violence
Beginning Feb. 23 in Chico, Rape Crisis Intervention, a United Way Agency, will offer a 55-hour training program for people concerned about survivors of sexual violence.
Training includes: Education about child abuse, rape trauma syndrome, crisis counseling and assault prevention. Upon completion of training, volunteers will be State Certified as Sexual Assault Peer Counselors.

Give the gift of hope
The American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days fundraiser is now in the process of taking orders through Feb. 26. Delivery will be March 24 at the Orland Fire Dept. for the Orland area. Flowers are available beginning at $10 and all funds raised benefit local residents.
Daffodils , the first flowers of spring, are a symbol of hoe for cancer patients and their families. To order, call Laura Blevins at 865-3266 or Shirley Russell at 865-9555.
4-H dinner fundraiser planned
The annual Glenn County 4-H Fund Raising Dinner will be held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 at St. Monica's Parish Hall in Willows. Dinner will feature tri-tip, rice, salad French bread, dessert and a drink. The cost is $8.
Tickets are available from any member, at the door or by calling 865-1107. All proceeds benefit 4-H events and awards in the Glenn County 4-H program.
Donations still needed
From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.. March 1-3 and 9:30 a.m. to noon on March 4, The Orland Women's Improvement Club will be accepting donations for their annual rummage sale which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 5 and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 6 at Flaherty Hall at the Glenn County Fairgrounds.
Visit King Tut
The Capay Rancho Women's Club will be having a bus trip to San Francisco and the King Tut exhibit at the De Young Museum on March 9. The price of $87 includes lunch at Sinbad's by the Ferry Building. For reservations, call Pat Ragan at 865-2615.
