Candidate filing period opens Monday

The filing period for special district candidates for the Nov. 3 election opens Monday and closes at 5 p.m. Aug. 7. The deadline extends to Aug. 12 if an incumbent officeholder does not file for re-election. Candidacy papers are at the Glenn County Elections Department, 516 W. Sycamore St., Willows. Carnitas dinner aids WHS freshman sports

Children’s center will  offer sports physicals
Physicals for school sports will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and July 21 at the Glenn Medical Center Children’s Center, 1144 W. Sycamore St., Willows. Cost is $10, with proceeds split between the Glenn Medical Foundation and the student’s school or club. Details: 934-4005.

Summer program keeps kids reading
