Community Briefs: Farmer workshop set
Northern California Regional Land Trust will host Beginning Farmer and Rancher workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Glenn County Farm Bureau, 831 Fifth St., Orland.
Topics will include accessing land, farm succession and getting started. The cost is $40.

Corvette Club to meet
The Americana Corvette Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Logan's Roadhouse in Chico. And upcoming run to Laughlin, Nev., will be discussed.

Opera trip planned
The Capay Rancho Women's Club is sponsoring a bus trip to see "South Pacific" at the Woodland Opera House on March 18.
Cost is $71 a person, and includes bus fair, ticket and lunch at Ludy's All You Can Eat Buffet.

Scholarship available
The Glenn Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are offering a scholarship in the amount of $200,000 to students who will be entering their junior, senior or graduate years of upper division university or college in the fall of 2012, preferably with an emphasis on beef production and/or promotion.
Candidates must be graduates of a Glenn or Colusa county high school.
