Harry W. 'Scotty' King
Harry W. "Scotty" King of Carmichael, Calif., passed away April 25, 2008, with loved ones at his side. He was 89.
King was born in Dayton, Wash., on Oct. 15, 1918, to Myrtle and Harry King. He graduated from Dayton High School and was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. King enlisted in the Air Force in March 1942 and was stationed at Mather Air Field where he met Raymelle Bay, formerly of Orland. They were married in January 1945, and he was discharged in December of that same year. He was employed at McClellan Field as a flight electrician. He later transferred into the service engineering division, where he worked until his retirement in 1975. King was an avid sports fan and was active in Carmichael Little League for many years.
King is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Raymelle; son Scott King of Citrus Heights; daughter and son-in-law Weslynn and David Hants of San Anselmo; grandson Brandon Hants and wife JoAnna of Woodside; granddaughter Kristen Stewart and husband Gregor of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A memorial service and reception was held May 9 at Carmichael Presbyterian Church. Donations may be made to the Legacy of Faith fund of Carmichael Presbyterian Church, 5645 Marconi Ave., Carmichael, CA 95608; or to the American Heart Association.
