Orland Police Report: July 26
0940 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to 1309 Fairview Street to take a runaway juvenile report. DeeDee Davis, 40 of Orland reported that her son, 16 year old Mathew Davis of Orland was missing and she needed to make a report. Officer Lopeteguy took the report. Mathew was later located in Cohasset California.
0900 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to a report of an attempted burglary at the Whistle Stop Bar. Upon arrival Officer Lopeteguy met with the victim, Mae Ellen German 50 of Orland. German advised that someone tried to force entry into her apartment by pushing her air conditioner out of the window. Officer Lopeteguy noted the incident.
1630 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was flagged down at 801 Date St. by 55 y/o Thomas Andrew Martin of Orland who reported finding an air hammer on his property. The property was booked in as found property.
1752 hrs Lorita Pirul, 44 of Orland reported several harassing phone calls to her residence at 307
Colusa St #A. Sgt Vlach documented the incident.
1843 hrs Sgts Vlach and Tolle searched the area for an anonymous report of a DUI driver in a white Sprint s/b Hwy 99W from Co Rd 7. The vehicle was not located.
1243 hrs Sgt Tolle was dispatched to a runaway report at 117 Fifth St. Thirty nine y/o Orland resident Sone Khaleck who reported his 17 and 1/2 y/o daughter left the house without his permission. Khaleck wanted the incident documented because she turns 18 in 1-1/2 months
2101 hrs Officer Cessna, Sgt. Vlach and Sgt. Tolle responded to 221 E Yolo St at the Glenn County Fairgrounds for a report of a fight between several intoxicated subjects who were refusing to leave. Blue Angel Security Officers requested assistance in removing subjects from the party. Officers remained on scene until no longer needed.
2127 hrs Officer Cessna responded to the Memorial Hall to assist Elite security Officers with a dispute over the operating permit for the event. Officers remained on scene until no longer needed.
2320 hrs Officer Cessna was dispatched to a possible DUI driver westbound on Hwy 32 in a dark colored passenger car. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
2350 hrs Officer Cessna located an alarm sounding at Bryan’s Pony Espresso; 245 E. Walker St. Officers checked the building and found it secure. The alarm was reset.
July 27
0136 hrs Officer Cessna and Sgt. Vlach responded to 920 Fourth St. for an unknown type of problem involving a child. Officers contacted 27 y/o Kerri Byers of Orland who stated that Martin Rouse left with their 2 y/o child. After an on scene investigation it is alleged that Byers vandalized a pick up truck outside of the residence. A report was taken.
0757 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to take a theft report at 145 E Yolo St. On arrival Officer Lopeteguy met with the victim, Robert Alvin Schmidt, 57 of Orland. Schmidt reported that sometime during the day between 0900 and 1730 hours someone broke into his residence and took medications and money. Officer Lopeteguy processed the scene and documented the report.
0924 hrs Officer Lopeteguy assisted Deputy Burns at 23640 Malton Switch Rd. Officer Lopeteguy assisted until no longer needed.
1228 hrs Officer Lopeteguy contacted and field interviewed a 13 y/o in the 100 block of E. Yolo St.
1630 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was requested to telephone Thomas Langmack, 32 of Orland regarding a business selling tobacco paraphernalia to minors. Officer Lopeteguy spoke with Langmack and then contacted Jeannette Marie Turner 58 of Red Bluff. Turner was operating a non-profit business on the “Moes Market” property. Turner was not able to present a Orland City business license so she was asked to close until she obtains a license or exemption.
1840 hrs Officer Landis was dispatched to 1008 W Monterey Street for a requested medical aid, subject having difficulty breathing. Officer Landis and Sgt. Tolle arrived on scene and contacted 23 y/o Janet Herrera of Orland who was having difficulty breathing. Officers stood by until medical staff arrived on scene.
July 28
0315 hrs Officer Cessna responded to an alarm at the Subway Restaurant; 839 Newville Rd. The Officer checked the building and found it to be secure. No further action was taken.
1445 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to a reported petty theft at 810 Papst Ave. Upon arrival Officer Lopeteguy met with the victim, Dolores Lusher 46 of Orland. Lusher told Officer Lopeteguy that she cleaned her vehicle out and left the extra property in a bag outside her residence. Lusher noticed that the bag was missing later in the day. Lusher requested extra patrol. A report was initiated.
0902 hrs Officer Lopeteguy was dispatched to Morehouse Air Conditioning 905 Eighth Street for a report of broken windows to the business. Upon arrival Officer Lopeteguy contacted 52 year old Orland resident, Bennett Craig Morehouse. Morehouse advised that during the weekend someone broke three of his windows. Morehouse requested documentation for insurance purposes. Morehouse also requested extra patrol.
0944 hrs Chief Pasero and Officer Lopeteguy were dispatched to Umpqua Bank; 301 Walker Street for a possible robbery in progress. Upon arrival Officers contacted Robert Morrison, 56 of Orland inside the bank. Morrison was detained and transported to the Orland Police Department. Following an investigation Morrison was arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant. Morisson was booked into the Glenn County Jail.
1035 hrs Officers Lopeteguy and Stover were dispatched to a WMA acting strangely in the area of South and Walnut. The Officers contacted 41 y/o Steven Stoltenberg of Orland. Stoltenberg was arrested and transported to Glenn County Jail for 647(f) PC being intoxicated in public.
1133 hrs Officer Stover was dispatched to a 911 hang up at 252 Bryant St. On arrival the officer contacted 19 y/o Karen Rueda of Orland, who stated there was no emergency and 911 had been dialed in error.
2116 hrs Officer Landis was dispatched to 341 Butte St. to recover a found bicycle. Thirty one y/o Charles Cutshall II of Orland reported that he found a mountain bike on the north side of his house at approximately 1730 hrs. Officer Landis recovered the bike and initiated a report.
July 29
0009 hrs Officer Landis was dispatched to 403 Papst Ave Apt#A for a report of minors in possession of alcohol. Fifty one y/o Linda Gonzalez of Orland reported that several minors in Apt#B were drinking alcohol. Officer Landis contacted 21 y/o Angelia Salinas of Orland, 21 y/o Brittany Gavia of Sacramento, 24 y/o Jonathon Kenoyer of Oregon, 20 y/o Evan Garland of Granite Bay, 21 y/o Georgina Adams of Orland, 20 y/o Lane Johnson of Granite Bay, 22 y/o Christopher Luescher of Red Bluff, 21 y/o Jemuel McDaniel of Red Bluff, 20 y/o Danielle Crook of Orland, and a 16 y/o Orland girl. After an on scene investigation Johnson, Crook, and Garland admitted to drinking alcohol that Georgina purchased. The juvenile was released to her mother, 56 y/o Terry Nava. A criminal case has been prepared and forwarded to the DA for review.
1202 hrs Officer JOHNSON was dispatched to 73 E Walker for a report of a vehicle vandalism. Forty four y/o Anna JACOBY of Orland reported that several female juveniles had thrown eggs at her vehicle damaging it. At 1319 hrs Officer JOHNSON and Sgt BAKER responded to Shasta Garden Apartments for a report of a fight. The officers contacted JACOBY, along with a 17 y/o female, two 16 y/o females, a 15 y/o female and a 14 y/o female suspect. After an on scene investigation, one of the 16 y/o suspects and the 14 y/o suspect were arrested for vandalism. Both were cited and released to their guardians. The other juveniles were counseled and released.
1328 hrs while on a detail at 226 E Shasta Street Sgt Baker contacted a 14 y/o female juvenile in the parking lot of the apartment complex as a vandalism suspect. Sgt. Baker recognized her as a reported runaway juvenile. The juvenile was turned over to her grandparents after being cited. The juvenile was removed from the state computer data base.
1552 hrs Officer JOHNSON was dispatched to 728 East St for a report of an assault that had occurred during a between juveniles. The officer contacted a 14 y/o and an 11 y/o reported that the 14 y/o had been attacked and assaulted a 12 and a 9 y/o. The matter is under investigation.
1715 hrs Sgt Tolle assisted a GCSO Deputy at a disturbance between two males and two females at the Orland Mobile Home Park. Sgt Tolle assisted until no longer needed.
