Community Briefs: Fundraiser rescheduled

Orland High School Safe & Sober Grad has re-scheduled its barbecue fundraiser to 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 24 at Les Schwab Tire Center, corner of Highway 99W and South Street, Orland. The event is sponsored by Les Schwab.

Hamburgers, cheeseburgers, meal deals and treats will be available for purchase.

 

Fair benefit next Saturday

Friends of the Glenn County Fair will hold a Fair Benefit BBQ Dinner March 24 with a no host social hour beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7. A raffle and auction will also be held.

Tickets are $30 per person and include ribs, chicken and all of the trimmings.

Gelding clinic offered in Orland

A low cost gelding clinic will be held at the Glenn County Fair on March 27, to safely and humanely help reduce the area's future volume of surplus horses.

The cost for a male horse is $75. The clinic is being put on by the National Equine Resource Network and R-VETS.

Family reading night March 29

Celebrate Cesar Chavez's legacy at a free community event sponsored by the Glenn Literacy Project and the Parent Partners from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Orland Free Library, 333 Mill St.

Bilingual story hours featuring Chavez's history, creative writing activities for all ages, materials to create your own book, puppet shows, bingo, free books, snacks and library card sign-ups will be available.
