Ranch sorting today

Ranch sorting will be held today with sign-ups beginning at 6 p.m. at the Glenn County Sheriff's Posse Arena, 6435 County Rd. 21, Orland. Bring a new rider and receive $5 off your cost. For more information, contact Bill at 865-5510.

Join Glenn Chorale

The Glenn Chorale will begin its 30th season at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Orland High School band room. Anyone who enjoys singing is invited to attend. Rehearsals will be held until the Christmas concerts in December. There are no auditions.

Slap That Canvass!

Butte College invites the community, faculty and students to participate in Slap That Canvass!, a project to co-create paintings and drawings. Eleven blank canvases and Lenox paper will be placed on easels and supplies provided at The Butte College Art Gallery, located on the main campus, 3536 Butte Campus Drive.

The project will be available Aug. 26 through Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and extended to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A reception and silent auction will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.

Master gardener meeting

Farmers Market Dinner

Bring your lawn chairs and join the community for an evening in the park.

The Glenn County Certified Farmers Market will host a dinner and community block party beginning with a social hour at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 and live music at 7 on Aug. 28 at Library Park. Dinner will be served by Farwood Bar and Grill, and desserts by Alta Marie's Bakery, along with local wines and beverages.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at Farwood Bar and Grill, Umpqua Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, La Perla Tapatia, Farmers Insurance, Tri-Counties Bank, Alta Marie's Bakery, and Golden Hills Financial Services.

A Kid's Corner, featuring hot dogs, chips and a drink and games will be available for $5.
