Mondragon family appreciates support

We would sincerely like to thank the community of Orland and many surrounding counties for their support over the past few months. Many businesses and organizations were kind enough to help with the benefit and the memorial service, donating raffle prizes, food, time, transportation and support in general.

I have lived in Orland most of my life and although Nick moved here from the Los Angeles area in 1989, he quickly learned why a small community that comes together in times of hardship was where he wanted to be. The generosity of people, not only in this community but in the North State, overwhelmed Nick and still continues to overwhelm his family.

To the family, friends, and the community that Officer Mondragon served for seven years, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To people in the North State who did not know our family personally, but of an officer and his family losing a fourteen year battle with cancer, you’ve shown that “Paying it Forward” with acts of kindness really works.

Our family is truly grateful that it’s surrounded by caring, loving, selfless individuals like you. You are all in our daily thoughts and prayers.
