Community Briefs: Fair entry forms now accepted
The Silver Dollar Fair in Chico is currently accepting entry forms for exhibits in a variety of categories to be judged at the event. Premium books are available at the fair office, online at silverdollarfair.org or by calling 895-4666.
The Silver Dollar Fair will be held on May 24-28.
Taco fundraiser Saturday
Orland High School Safe & Sober Grad is holding a taco fundraiser from 10 a.m. — 4 p.m. Saturday at the Best of the West Business Expo at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E. Yolo St., Orland.
Tacos will be $1 each.
Shaken baby prevention talk set
In observance of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awareness Month, a free Shaken Baby Prevention Talk will be held from 3:30p.m. - 5:30 p.m. April 17 at the Carnegie Community Center in Orland, 912 Third St.
Information on the impact of Shaken Baby Syndrome on child development featuring a state-of-the-art shaken baby doll will be discussed.

Student applications due soon
Applications for Range & Natural Resources Camp for high school students are due April 18.
This week-long event will immerse students ages 15-18 in science and management topics related to the use and conservation of rangelands, forests and riparian areas in California.

Meet Congressman Garamendi
A meet and greet with Congressman John Garamendi, D-Walnut Grove, will be held April 28 at the Arts and Crafts Building at the Glenn County Fairgrounds, 221 E. Yolo St., Orland.

Help for disabled veterans
Nonprofit Disabled American Veterans Mobile Service will be available to assist in counseling and claim filing at from 8:30 a.m. — 4 p.m. April 18, Veterans Hall, 554 Rio Lindo Ave., Chico.
Are you gluten intolerant?
A free educational seminar will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. April 19 at Glenn Medical Center, 113 W. Sycamore St., Willows.
Participants will learn whether gluten sensitivities or other types of food intolerances are causing their bowels problems, as well as effective approaches on how they can overcome it.

Prom Project boutiques open
The Glenn County Office of Education will hold Prom Project boutiques for Glenn County high school students who may face financial hardships in purchasing prom formal wear.
The Orland boutique will be held from 4-8 p.m. April 16-17 at the Orland Glenn County Office of Education, 676 E. Walker St.
The Willows boutique will be held from 6-8 p.m. April 19-20 at the Willows Glenn County Office or Education, 331 S. Villa Ave.
