Letter: Fire Department says thanks

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize the Barceloux-Tibessart Foundation for their generous donation to the Orland Volunteer Fire Department this past year of $7,015.

These funds helped us meet our goal to be completely narrow banded by our deadline of June 2012. Our department was able to purchase four new Kenwood mobile radios. The four radios were installed in engines that would not have been compliant with the new requirement because they were outdated technology.

With the support of this fine organization, the department has met its goal and our equipment is ready to go for the deadline.

The Barceloux-Tibessart Foundation has given to our department numerous times in years past and it has helped this department continue to function to help protect and serve the community of Orland. On behalf of the Orland Volunteer Fire Department, I want to thank this organization for their continued support of our department.
