Sober Grad sells wreaths
The Orland High School Safe & Sober Grad annual Christmas wreath sale has begun.
Fresh 28-inch Nobel Fir wreaths decorated with berries and pine cones are available for $25 each.

Pantry pickup is Dec. 8
The next Orland Pantry "A Simple Gesture" pickup will be from 9 a.m. — noon Dec. 8.
The Pantry's October pickup resulted in more than 3,000 pounds of non-perishable food items.

Christmas Open House set
The Orland Historical and Cultural Society will host its Vintage Christmas Open House from 1 p.m. -4 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Alta Schmidt House Museum, 936 Fourth St., Orland.
The museum will be decorated for the Christmas season and the player piano will be playing Christmas music.
Refreshments will be served.
The community is invited to this free event.
Hobbit party set for library
The Orland Free Library will host "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Party" from 5 p.m. -6:30 p.m. Dec. 13.
Youths 11-17 are invited to celebrate the prequel to J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy the day before it debuts in theaters.
No reservation is needed. Costumes are optional.
Party will consist of riddle games, Hobbit activities, prizes and refreshments.

Photo show at Arts Council
Sharon Barker and Sue Graue will present a photo show from noon — 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Colusa Arts Council building, 430 Market St., in Colusa.
They will be showing and selling nature and wildlife photos, cards and calendars. The Arts Council office will be open and there will be refreshments.
