Certified Farmers Market
Willows will host the Glenn County Certified Farmers Market for the month of September, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays at Memorial Park. Fresh fruits and vegetables, local meats, specialty oils, baked goods, arts and crafts, community groups, music and more will be available. Eagles rummage sale
The Orland Eagles Auxiliary will host their annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at 6381 County Rd. 200, Orland.
Become a citizen volunteer
Glenn County residents wishing to take the Police Citizens Academy have the opportunity to do so beginning Tuesday. Classes will be held from 7-9 p.m. each Tuesday in the Community Social Room at Eskaton Kennedy Manor, 714 N. Humboldt Ave., Willows. The last class will be Dec. 14.
To qualify, participants must be at least 18 years of age, live or work in Glenn County and have no felony convictions. At the completion of the Academy, participants have the opportunity to join either the Willows or Orland Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), if they desire.

Amateur radio certification
Glenn Amateur Radio Society is celebrating its certification and affiliation with the American Radio Relay League with an open house from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Hall, 735 Main St., Artois. There will be speakers, demonstrations, hors d'oeuvres and door prizes. For more information, contact John Hursey at 329-6713. �
