St. Patrick's Day fundraiser at Granzella's

Granzella's will host a St. Patrick's Day fundraiser to benefit Citizens for a Better Williams. Corned beef and cabbage will be served from 5-7 p.m. today at the banquet center, 457 Seventh St. Tickets are $9 for adults; $5 for children and available at the door or in advance at the Granzella's office next to the gift shop or Shear Class in Williams, 530 Seventh St. For more information, call 473-5583.

Donate a pint, receive a pint

The Williams Community Blood Drive will take place from 2-6 p.m. Thursday at the Parkside United Methodist Church, corner of Ninth and G Streets, Williams. Anyone who donates will receive a coupon for a free individual Penne Marinara with Meatballs from Round Table Pizza. For more information, call 866-822-5663.

Friends of The Library hosts annual meeting

The Friends of the Colusa County Library will hold their annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colusa County Chamber and Visitor Center, 2963 Davison Court.

Author Robert V. Hardy, author of "Circular Passages, a Young Man's 480-Day Global Odyssey" will be a guest speaker. Refreshments will be served and everyone is invited. Contact Catherine Bernard for information: 458-5601.

Teens are encouraged to attend walk with cross

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish will host its Annual Live Stations of the Cross after the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Friday. The Confirmation class will walk the walk to Calvary by reflecting on various concerns of today's teen. Stone Soup Supper will follow at St. Bernadette's Hall.

Mass, Stations of the Cross, followed by Soup Supper takes place every Friday evening during Lent starting at our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Stagehands presenting 2 family-oriented shows

The Stagehands will present its spring plays "The Question", a children's play and "The revenge of the Red Feather Ladies" (rated G for family) Friday through Sunday, and March 26 and 27. The March 21 performance is a matinee with curtain time at 2:15 p.m.. Doors open at 1:30. All other performance dates begin at 8:15 p.m., doors open at 7:30.

Tickets are $8 and are on sale at Messick Hardware and the Country Stop in Colusa, The Pizza Factory in Arbuckle as well as nightly at the door. For more information, contact Shot Sistrunk at (916)591-5070.

Help walk all over diabetes

The community is invited to join in a 3K walk to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Colusa High School Track. $15 per walker. Register at 9:30 a.m. the day of the walk or call (707)980-0008 to pre-register.

Williams hosting 33rd Antique Show

The Williams Antique Show will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Old Gym located at 1491 E Street, behind the museum. The cost is $5 and includes admission to the museum. Visitors will receive $1 off if they mention seeing this announcement. The Church of Annunciation will have homemade cakes, pies, soups and sandwiches available for purchase.

Help purchase medical, firefighting equipment

The Indian Valley Fire Department in Stonyford will hold an Indian Taco Feed from 4:30-8 p.m. Saturday at the Stonyford Grange Hall. Tickets are $6 pre-sale and $7 at the door. A raffle and silent auction will also be available. For more information, contact Allen Burt at 963-3729.

The Knights of Columbus will host a whist card party beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Bernadette's Hall, 745 Ware Ave., Colusa. The cost is $12 and includes a corned beef lunch and a chance to win the door prize as well as other prizes.

Informational night at Our Lady of Lourdes School

Our Lady of Lourdes School will have an informational night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday at St. Bernadette's Hall, 745 Ware Ave., Colusa. Parents interested in enrolling students in preschool, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and grades 1-8 are encouraged to attend. Child care will be provided. For more information, call 458-8208.

New spring bird walks at the River Units

The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge will hold a nature walk on March 26 just north of Hwy. 162 on the west side of the river and will route through a mixture of cottonwoods, grasslands and freshwater. Pre-registration is needed. Please contact the refuge at 934-2801.

Flip for flapjacks to help firefighters

The Colusa City firefighters will host a pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. March 27 at the Colusa Fire Station, 750 Market St. The cost is $5 and children under six years-old eat for free.

Cattlewomen, cattlemen offer scholarship

The Glenn Colusa Cattlewomen and Cattlemen are offering a scholarship in the amount of $2,500 to students who will be entering their junior, senior or graduate years of upper vision university or college in the Fall of 2010. New wildlife viewing opportunities

A new opportunity for photography and wildlife observation will be available at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge now through June. First-come, first-served blinds will be open for use, as well as six new miles of walking trail. This area can be accessed free of charge off Road 68 at Parking Area D, approximately 2.5 miles east of Hwy. 99W. for more information, call 934-2801.
