Community Briefs: Indrieri to speak at meeting

Ashley D. Indrieri, chief operations officer for Family Water Alliance, will be the featured speaker at the Glenn County Patriots meeting, 6:30 p.m. Monday at Andy's, 236 W. Sycamore St.

Indrieri will address some of the present water issues facing the North State.

Candidate to hold meeting

Rick Tubbs, candidate for U.S. Congressional District 3, will hold a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Andy's, 236 W. Sycamore St.

Eagles serving up fish, chips

The Orland Eagles will be serving up a fish and chip dinner from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at the Orland Eagles Hall, 6381 County Road 200, Orland.

Dinner is $6 for adults; children, $5; and children under six eat for free.

Egg Hunt is April 7

The Orland Parks and Recreation Department will hold an Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. at Vinsohhaler Park.

Children 10 years and younger can participate, with a golden egg prize for each age group. Bring your own basket.

Spaghetti fundraiser set

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser to benefit the Southwest Liver Transplant Fund in honor of Janice Sumahit will take place from 4-8 p.m. April 14 at the Orland Eagles Hall, 6381 Newville Road. A bake sale and raffle will also be held.

Adult tickets are $8 and children under 12 are $5. Meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread and beverage. Take-out will also be available.

Refuge hosts program

The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge invites students in grades 3-6 to earn a Junior Refuge Firefighter badge.

Beginning at 10 a.m. April 21, children can visit with the refuge staff and learn what the staff does to help the wildlife, habitat and people. Participants can explore the fire engine, learn about the tools used during a fire and earn their badge. Smokey Bear will also be on site. Participants will meet at the Visitor Center, 752 Highway 99W, Willows.
