Parents rally for Sober Grad Raffle

Parents from the Orland, Willows, and Hamilton high schools are working with the Corning High School Parents Club - Cards in Action - to sponsor a 2010 Sober Grad Raffle.

The raffle has drawings for trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Napa and San Francisco, and for cash prizes of $500, $350 and $200.

Tickets are $20 and the drawing will be held at noon today at The Pizza Factory in Orland.

Make history with largest bunco bash in County

The Ark Christian Center is sponsoring a bunco bash beginning at 6 p.m. today at 222 N. Butte St. in Willows. All proceeds will support North Valley Christian Schools' Help-a-Student program which helps enable qualifying families to attend Oak Tree Christian School or Providence Christian High School. Learn how to run for a public office

The Glenn County Republican Assembly in holding a Campaign School from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn Express, 545 N. Humboldt St. in Willows. The cost is $35 per person. Get your quilts ready

The first community/county quilt show will be held on April 16 and 17. The deadline to enter is Feb. 15. Entry forms are available at the Quilt Corral, the Willows Library and at the quilting class in Orland. For more information, call 934-5371.

Be a sweetheart to needy animals

Town and Country Humane Society will host its Valentine Bingo with doors opening at 6 p.m. and games starting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the Glenn County Fairgrounds. Fore more information call 865-3661 or 865-5605.

Firefighting made for fun

The Fire Management Staff at Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge will hold a number of fun activities related to the field of firefighting, with children as the main focus. These programs will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 20 and April 17. It is great for Boy and Girl Scout groups and students in grades 3-6. To sign up, call 934-2801.

Donated items needed

The Orland Women's Improvement Club will hold its 60th annual rummage sale on March 5 and 6 at the Glenn County Fairgrounds Flaherty Hall. Good clean children's clothes and toys, furniture, household items, jewelry, linens and small appliances are requested for donation. Proceeds support two Orland High School scholarships.
