Letter: Candidates aren’t fiscally responsible
Yesterday (Oct. 2) you watched our leaders put a bill together with the maturity of a runaway child. The bill was supposed to bail us out of an overspending problem. Our Senate dug a bigger hole and then started putting the dirt back on top of us.
What I saw yesterday is the proof that not one of them has any idea how to manage money. Both of the (presidential) candidates signed that bill. What does that tell you? Our government acts just like a 16-year-old that has just been given a credit card, no maturity at all. As a business owner, I can tell you no business could survive a spending spree like the Senate is trying to push down our throat.
The Democrats have this notion that by throwing money at fiscally irresponsible people, they will learn to be responsible. The Republicans want to give back the idea of free enterprise and believe the goodness of mankind will kick in and the boss of the company will take care of his employees. The problem we have is none of the elected are fiscally responsible themselves.
Unless someone starts caring about this country and the outrageous spending habits, you can kiss this country
